Shikou is a hybrid Asian-type eggplant. The dark purple, glossy, elongated fruit measure 6-8 inches long by 1-1.5 inches wide, with a purple calyx (or stem), and tender, thin skin. Medium-sized plants are very attractive and productive, producing loads of lavender blooms followed by semi-spineless fruits that mature about 70-80 days from transplant.
